where he performed as Dr. Falke (Die Fledermaus), Fritz Kothner (Die Meistersinger von N\u00fcrnberg), Donner (Das Rheingold), Melot (Tristan und Isolde), Der Ein\u00e4ugige (Frau ohne Schatten), Don Fernando (Fidelio), Ping (Turandot), Schaunard (La Boh\u00e8me), Ned Keene (Peter Grimes), Masetto (Don Giovanni), Cesare Angelotti (Tosca), Moral\u00e8s (Carmen), and the First Nazarene (Salome), as well as Simon in Haydn&#8217;s The Seasons with the Vienna State Ballet.<\/p>\n<p>Future tasks include Bach&#8217;s Christmas Oratorio with the Thomanerchor and the Gewandhaus Orchestra under Andreas Reis, Bach&#8217;s St. Matthew Passion with the RIAS Chamber Choir and the Akademie f\u00fcr Alte Musik Berlin under Justin Doyle, a new production of The Blacksmith as part of LORTZING 26 at the Leipzig Opera, and Schubert&#8217;s Winterreise with Akademie Murakami at LiedERLEBEN in Munich.<\/p>\n<p>His previous operatic engagements have included performances at the Op\u00e9ra de Lyon (Ratzekahl in Schrekers Irrelohe, Don I\u00f1igo in Ravel&#8217;s L&#8217;Heure espagnole), the Oper Leipzig (Heerrufer in Lohengrin, Monterone in Rigoletto, Adi the Dwarf in Marius Felix Lange&#8217;s Snow White), Nevill Holt Opera (Cos\u00ec fan tutte), Th\u00e9\u00e2tre des Champs-\u00c9lys\u00e9es and Op\u00e9ra de Vichy (ll Gran Sacerdote in Nabucco), Tonhalle D\u00fcsseldorf (Schumann&#8217;s Geneva), Kammeroper Schloss Rheinsberg and Theater Gera-Altenburg (The Rape of Lucretia), and Barbican Centre, London (Henzes Ein Landarzt und Phaedra). <\/p>\n<p>He has worked with conductors such as Howard Arman, Marco Armiliato, Christoph Altstaedt, Sian Edwards, Bertrand de Billy, J\u00f6rg Endebrock, \u00c1d\u00e1m Fischer, Christoph Gedschold, Michele Gamba, Ludwig G\u00fcttler, Axel Kober, Giedr\u0117 \u0160lekyt\u0117, Alexander Soddy, Masaaki Suzuki, Patrick Lange, Antonello Manacorda, Cornelius Meister, Franz Welser-M\u00f6st, Andr\u00e9s Orozco-Estrada, Alejo P\u00e9rez, Daniele Rustioni, Christian Thielemann, Jonathan Stockhammer, and Simone Young. He has also collaborated with directors such as Frank Castorf, Claus Guth, Keith Warner, David B\u00f6sch, Calixto Bieito, Jossi Wieler, Sergio Morabito, and James Bonas.<\/p>\n<p>His concerts have taken him to venues such as the Wigmore Hall in London, the Berliner Philharmonie, the Ruhr Klavierfestival with Graham Johnson, the Lyrisches Salon with Daniel Heide, Leeds Lieder, the Oxford Lieder Festival with Bengt Forsberg and Sholto Kynoch, LSO St. Luke&#8217;s in London, Snape Maltings with Bittens Canticles, and the Wiener Musikverein. In 2019, he performed the opening recital for LIFE Victoria Barcelona with Julius Drake and sang Mahler&#8217;s R\u00fcckert Lieder to L&#8217;Orchestra Sinfonica di Milano Giuseppe Verdi. <\/p>\n<p>His diverse concert repertoire takes him regularly throughout Europe, including performances at the Thomaskirche and Gewandhaus Leipzig, the Frauenkirche Dresden with Bach&#8217;s Christmas Oratorio, the Tonhalle-Orchester Z\u00fcrich with Handel&#8217;s Jephtha, the L&#8217;Orchestra Sinfonica di Milano Giuseppe Verdi, and finally, with Masaaki Suzuki and the Bach Collegium Japan in Tokyo, performing Bach&#8217;s St. Matthew Passion.<\/p>\n<p>He is a graduate of the Hochschule f\u00fcr Musik und Theater Leipzig, the opera program at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London (under Rudolf Piernay), and a winner of several competitions, including \u201cDas Lied\u201d and the Bundeswettbewerb Gesang. Numerous masterclasses (including those with Thomas Hampson and Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau) led him to institutions such as the Heidelberger Fr\u00fchlings Lied Academy and Edith Wien&#8217;s International Meistersinger Academy. <\/p>\n<p>Martin H\u00e4\u00dfler was a scholarship recipient of the Studienstiftung des deutschen Volkes and is currently working for mentoringArts at the
