Makeup

Miriam Hygen completed vocational training as a makeup artist, visagist and airbrush specialist, and also attended workshops in hairstyling and body painting. Since 2010, she has been working as a make-up artist and visagist and is the founder of the Vienna Make-up Artist Academy. She is also a lecturer at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna (Makeup Program).

Since March 2024, Miriam Hygen has been working as an evening assistant at the Vienna State Opera. She was engaged at the Volksoper Vienna from May 2024 to June 2025 and also served as makeup artist for the Opernsommer production of La Traviata and at the Sommertheater Kobersdorf. From May 2022 to June 2024, she was engaged as a makeup designer at the Gloria Theater.

She has additionally worked with numerous artists and public figures, such as Xavier Naidoo, Sofa Surfers, Mimi Hie, Ion Holender, Eric Papilaya, Christina Stürmer, Robert Kratky, Karl Lagerfeld, Carmen and Robert Geiss, among many others.

Her work also includes projects for large-scale events and institutions, such as the Life Ball and the Austrian Parliament, as well as international advertising and media productions. Her clients include Philadelphia, A1, OMV, Magenta, Borealis, Red Bull, Ja! Natürlich, Austrian Airlines, Dior, Cartier, Guess, Vogue Italia, ÖBB, Siemens, Verbund, Erste Bank, Raiffeisen Bank, Milka and numerous other companies and brands in fashion, business and culture.
