Ceremonial handover of the Japanese torii gates for MADAMA BUTTERFLY at ART for ART
At the invitation of Petra Höfinger, Managing Director of ART for ART, KS Clemens Unterreiner, Artistic Director of Oper BURG GARS, two Japanese torii gates made especially for the opera production were ceremonially presented to Oper BURG GARS.
The main torii gate welcomes guests at the grandstand entrance, while a second, smaller torii gate serves as a photo point, adding a special keepsake to the opera evening.
Festival Season Opening 2026 with KunstBURG
For the festive opening of the season on April 26, 2026, Artistic Director Clemens Unterreiner and entrepreneur and art collector Werner Trenker invited guests to the historic ceremonial hall of the former Babenberg residence.
As part of a musical vernissage, this year’s KunstBURG exhibition was presented — an inspiring opening event that strikingly intertwines the castle, opera, and visual arts.
Program Presentation 2026
Artistic Director Clemens Unterreiner presented the cast of this year’s opera production “Madama Butterfly” at the Italian Embassy, along with the diverse accompanying program of the KulturBURG, including the KunstBURG.
2026 will also feature numerous artistic and cultural highlights.
