Program 2026
In addition to the summer opera Madama Butterfly, the centerpiece of the season, Artistic Director Clemens Unterreiner presents a high-caliber selection of unique cultural experiences as part of KulturBURG, running from spring through autumn 2026. A varied lineup of open-air events across different genres, from pop and folk music to cabaret, perfectly complements the program of EventBURG.

When the sun slowly sets over the historic walls of Burg Gars, one of the most moving operas in the history of music will unfold in the summer of 2026: “Madama Butterfly” is a deeply touching story of hope, love and the bitter awakening of a woman caught between two worlds.
KulturBURG
The KulturBURG offers a diverse and high-quality programme from April to September, complementing the summer opera production. The range spans from vernissages at the new KunstBURG and matinées to musical readings, song recitals, concerts, and spectacular open-air events – a season full of cultural highlights!
After the successful launch of this newly created format, 2026 will once again present a season that stands out with exceptional cultural highlights.
EventBURG
With our EventBURG, we offer our long-standing partners as well as national and international organizers the opportunity to stage their diverse in-house productions in the unique atmosphere of our open-air venue. By making its atmospheric stage available to popular guest artists from other genres, the Opera BURG GARS creates a varied program throughout the year, ranging from pop concerts and folk music to cabaret.
