Argentinian tenor Gabriel Arce, born in San Juan (Argentina), is currently based in Madrid (Spain). As a soloist he has performed in numerous opera houses, festivals and concert halls across Italy, Spain, Germany, Bulgaria, Austria, Malta, Greece, France, Belgium, Israel and Argentina.
Operatic roles performed as Faust in Faust (Charles Gounod), Pinkerton in Madama Butterfly with the State Opera Stara Zagora (Bulgaria), Rodolfo in La Bohème at Teatro Comunale di Belluno, Italy Teatro Apolo, Madrid, Grosse Aula (Salzburg) and Teatro Pavón (Madrid), Turiddu in Cavalleria Rusticana with Israel Chamber Opera Orchestra at Ashdod Performing Arts Center (Israel), Duca di Mantova in Rigoletto at Perugia Music Fest (Perugia, Italy) and Hoffmann in Les contes d’Hoffmann at the Mozarteum Salzburg, Alfredo in La Traviata, Nemorino in L’elisir d’amore at Schloss Amerang (Germany), as well as Tamino in Die Zauberflöte and Don Ottavio in Don Giovanni at Palazzo Steri, as part of the Palermo Classica Festival (Palermo, Sicilia).
Im Konzertfach trat er als Tenorsolist unter anderem in Verdis Messa da Requiem im Auditorio Nacional de Madrid, in Beethovens 9. Symphonie beim Palermo Classica Festival, in Mascagnis Messa di Gloria in Salzburg, in Bruckners Te Deum im Auditorio Juan Victoria (Argentinien), in Rossinis Petite Messe solennelle in Salzburg, in Mozarts Requiem im Auditorio Nacional de Madrid, in Mozarts Krönungsmesse in Salzburg, in Haydns Paukenmesse, in Saint-Saëns’ Oratorio de Noël sowie in Ariel Ramírez’ Misa Criolla auf.
Gabriel Arce has been recognized in several international competitions, including as the winner of the “Voice of Kamen” Competition (Plovdiv, 2022) with a contract prize at the State Opera Stara Zagora, as the winner of the “Grandi Voci” Competition (Salzburg, 2019) with the Puccini Prize, as the winner of the “Mozart Festival” Competition (Mozarteum San Juan, 2015), and as a recipient of the “Fondo Nacional de las Artes” Award (Argentina, 2016).
He studied Music Performance – Singing at the National University of San Juan (Argentina) under Fernando Lara and continued his studies in Opera and Musical Theater at the Mozarteum University of Salzburg with tenor Mario Diaz.
Throughout his career, he has collaborated with distinguished conductors and stage directors including Giulio Cilona, Emmanuel Siffert, Ivailo Krinchev, Cem Mansur, Roberto Beltrán Zavala, Enrique Ricci, Pascual Osa Ognian Draganoff, Alexander von Pfeil, Lucia Zicos, Eugenio Zanetti Mario Benzecry, Jean Pierre Faber, Grigor Palikarov, Alessandro Alonzi, Patrick Murray, Gernot Sahler, Jorge Fontenla, John Galea, Susana Frangi, Vag Papian, Stefano Seghedoni, Bernhard Gfrerer, Uroš Ugarkovid, Natalie Forester, Felipe Hirschfeldt Gaddiel Dombrowner, Willy Landin and Vincent Monteil.
In addition to his operatic career, since 2025 Gabriel Arce has also been the lead vocalist of the internationally acclaimed project ERA, created and directed by Eric Lévi. With ERA, he completed a tour in France in February 2025 and is currently recording new material for the band’s upcoming album. Gabriel Arce is also a guitarist and composer, creating music that blends elements of funk, R&B, soul, blues, and other contemporary styles. His versatility as a musician allows him to move seamlessly between the worlds of classical and popular music, bringing a unique expressive depth to both.
