The Romanian tenor Simion Novac completed his studies at the Royal Academy of Music in London, where he earned both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Singing. During his training, he was mentored by the renowned tenor Ryland Davies.
Already during his studies, Simion joined the choir of the Banatul State Philharmonic in Timișoara. Following a successful audition, he became a member of the Philharmonia Chorus in London in 2019. Since then, he has performed in some of Europe’s most prestigious concert halls, including the Royal Albert Hall, the Royal Festival Hall and the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, collaborating with distinguished conductors such as Riccardo Muti, Vasily Petrenko, Santtu-Matias Rouvali and Jakub Hrůša.
Simion gave his solo debut in 2020 in Romania with Johann Michael Haydn’s Missa Sanctus Gabrielis. His UK solo debut followed in 2022, performing Handel’s Messiah with the Philharmonia Chorus under the direction of Gavin Carr. In April 2026, he will make his role debut as Giuseppe in La Traviata at the Hurn Court Opera in the Royal Winchester Theatre.
Since 2024, Simion has been a member of the choir of Opéra La Monnaie in Brussels, and since January 2025, he has also been singing in the chorus of the Dutch National Opera in Amsterdam. In addition, he will return in 2026 for the third time to the Opera BURG GARS, where he has previously performed the role of Giuseppe in La Traviata.
