Vitaliy Kovalchuk began his journey in operatic singing at the S. Krushelnytska Music High School in his hometown, later continuing his studies in Italy at the G. Verdi Conservatory of Music under the guidance of Maestra Sonia Turchetta. He honed his technique with various Maestros, including F. Bandera, G. Cecchele, Montserrat Caballè, Fiorenza Cedolins and Vincenzo Manno and currently continues his refinement with Maestra Sara Sforni Corti.
His first professional experiences date back to 2002, when he began collaborating with the Orquestra Sinfonica do Norte in Portugal, performing as a soloist in productions such as Tosca and Nabucco. His debut as a soloist in leading roles came in 2007, when he portrayed Canio in Pagliacci in Cosenza, followed by the role of Cavaradossi in Tosca at the Ventimiglia Municipal Theater in 2012.
In the subsequent years, he continued to perform leading roles in numerous international productions. From 2012 to 2013, he was a stable soloist at the Wroclaw Theater in Poland, portraying roles like Rodolfo in La Bohème and the Duke of Mantua in Rigoletto. His debut at the Bolshoi Theater in Moscow in 2015 was another important milestone, followed by numerous performances at festivals and renowned theaters worldwide.
His repertoire includes a wide range of operas, such as Radamès in Aida, Turiddu in Cavalleria Rusticana, Canio in I Pagliacci, Cavaradossi in Tosca, Maurizio in Adriana Lecouvreur, Luigi in Il Tabarro, Florestan in Fidelio, the False Dmitry in Boris Godunov and others. In addition to full opera performances, he regularly performs in concerts both in Italy and abroad, demonstrating his versatility and mastery of the repertoire.
Among his future engagements, he will perform as Pollione in Norma at Opera Pa Skaret in Sweden. With a career on a steady rise and a schedule already filled with significant productions and concerts, he stands out as one of the most talented and versatile voices in the international opera scene. His dedication and passion for music are evident in his ongoing refinement and the enthusiasm with which he pursues his artistic career.
His experience and vocal abilities have enabled him to succeed in a wide range of roles and productions, highlighting his versatility and talent. His ability to express emotions through his voice and to engage the audience makes him an extraordinary performer, capable of transporting spectators to distant worlds through the power and beauty of his voice.
