Born in Lutherstadt Wittenberg, Germany, singer, vocal pedagogue, and voice artist David Neumann first attended the State Grammar School for Music in Wernigerode before continuing his studies at the mdw, University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna, where he studied with Julia Bauer-Huppmann, focusing on ensemble conducting.

The baritenor further refined his artistic profile through masterclasses with renowned musicians including Christa Ludwig and Angelika Kirchschlager, as well as in the field of crossover performance with Noëlle Turner, Sascha Wienhausen, and Monika Ballwein.

As a freelance singer, he performs both as an ensemble member, appearing at venues such as the Salzburg Festival and the Festspielhaus Baden-Baden, and as a soloist. Most recently, he appeared at the MusikTheater an der Wien in “Der herzlose Riese”, “Vincent”, and “L’Opera Seria”. In addition to his performance career, he is a sought-after lecturer on breathing and vocal technique and also works as a recording artist, including projects at Synchron Stage Vienna.
